Special Mother's Day Donuts

We are going to debut a Mimosa donut made with champagne chocolate buttercream tomorrow. It is going to be a Sunday regular from now on. What better than a Mimosa to go with Sunday Brunch? A Mimosa donut of course!

Also, we'll have heart-shaped bismarck's with vanilla bean curd and strawberry buttercream in the bakery--but ONLY this Sunday! Be sure to stop by to pick up this lovely item for the special Mom in your life.

Since these are so new, and so good. All our test baking samples were eaten before we could get a photo, so we'll tempt you with a view of the similar Vanilla Creme Bismarck.

Closed Easter

Thanks to all of you who replied on facebook and to us in the bakery when we asked about being open or closed on Sunday. You all encouraged us to take the day to be with family. We hope you'll take the good advice and spend time with your family Sunday as well. Of course, we'd love to see you stop by on Saturday to gather up a special treat.

Good News. Bad News. GOOD NEWS!

Mojo Monkey has been invited to speak at a national convention. We're being asked to talk all about our wonderful success, delightful treats and path from day one to today. We feel really privileged!

Really this is because of you, our excellent customers. All your suggestions, regular visits and how you have been so good about telling your friends and co-workers...(welling up with tears)...has made the difference.

I started this as a small business—my daughters inspired me. I bake each morning excited to provide sweet moments for you in your busy day. I also bake because I'm excited about getting home in the late afternoon to hear about the school day and share a meal and maybe a movie with my daughters.

So I'm very happy that they can come with me to the convention, and we can enjoy this celebration of our success together.

That's the good news.

The bad news (I'm sorry!) is that, because of the convention, we will be closed Tuesday, February 19 and will not be open until our normal Saturday, March 2. Yes, this is ten business days—a gillion donuts and (surprisingly) half-a-gillion donut holes—away from each other. Will you forgive us? We hope so.

Now for the GOOD NEWS:

Starting in March you can have Mojo Monkey Donuts delivered! We've worked out some really sweet deals during a pilot project over the past few months. So stay tuned for more news about delivery and...

We're also working up some new recipes, new combinations and new ways to bring more Mojo Monkey Donuts to you soon!

Special Heart-Shaped Donuts. Love.

Mojo is happy to be baking up special heart-shaped donuts today.

A few Heart shaped strawberry bismarcks remain, sorry the amaretto version of our special donut is something we'll make more of next year. Also try our Cherry Red Velvet with cherry buttercream. We are really loving our buttercream recipes. Ooh La La!

Fryer is Tired! Mojo Comforts Key Kitchen Friend.

We are guessing that today must be National Take Your Fryer Out To Lunch day since ours has decided that it needs the day off. Repair teams have been called, professionals consulted and a diagnosis is on the way shortly.

As we pause for the day our team is reflecting on the hundreds of dozens of donuts that we've produced  since opening in the Fall of 2011.

Thank you little fryer, thank you.

UPDATE: Whew, we just needed some help running through a reset of the fryer's hood. All's well. Of course it would be a problem with a hoodie!
