We love our neighbors!
And we're happy to report that they love us.
Last week, we created something extra special—the Fig Blue Cheese Bismarck topped with roasted chestnut icing. This concoction was inspired by The Growler—a local magazine published by our neighbors at The Beer Dabbler.
We want to say thank you to The Growler for this terrific inspiration in the form of Dan Parker's recipe for “Big Woods Blue Cheesecake with Barleywine Fig Compote.” And we're happy to say our creation got Parker's approval:
Thank you so much for making these delicious gems. We are so happy to have found such a fun little place. I am so flattered that someone who cares about what they do and executes as well as you do would think of my recipe as an inspiration. You took a fun idea and made it absolutely delicious in donut form.
Thank you again and I am glad to have met you!
Cheers!
Dan Parker
Thank you, Dan, for the delicious inspiration! We look forward to future recipe collaboration.
Check out the cheesecake recipe on page 54 of the December 2013/January 2014 issue!
“The belle of the ball is Mojo Monkey Donuts, St. Paul’s newest shop.
It has everything you’d ever want in a donut shop: crullers as light
as air, double-chocolate donuts as intensely chocolaty as devil’s food
cake, mocha-crème filled donuts full of lush custard and true mocha
depth.”
